The Motorola MPMC222 is an industrial grade dual fiber communication module based on the VMEbus architecture, positioned as the "dual channel high-speed fiber transmission hub" of the VME system. It achieves long-distance, high bandwidth, and low latency parallel data transmission through dual independent fiber interfaces, while supporting redundant backup or load balancing. It is suitable for scenarios such as industry and national defense that require strict communication reliability and transmission efficiency, and is a key component for building highly available fiber communication links.
1、 Core technical characteristics
Dual fiber channel parallel transmission
Equipped with 2 independent fiber optic interfaces (supporting single-mode/multi-mode options, including LC/SC interface types), capable of simultaneously transmitting data from two channels:
Redundancy mode: Two channels transmit the same data, and when one channel fails, it automatically switches to the other to ensure that critical data (such as radar detection data and power dispatch instructions) is not interrupted;
Load balancing mode: Two channels share different data traffic (such as high-definition images from different workstations on the production line and multiple sets of collected data from experimental equipment), breaking through the bandwidth bottleneck of a single channel and adapting to high-capacity real-time data interaction scenarios.
High speed and low latency transmission performance
Supports up to several Gbps transmission rates (depending on the model), with latency controlled in microseconds (<1 μ s):
Satisfy scenarios with high timeliness requirements such as real-time control command issuance in industrial automation and high-speed interaction of tactical data in national defense;
The fiber optic transmission medium itself has anti electromagnetic interference and low signal attenuation characteristics. Combined with the signal shaping and CRC verification functions of the module, it further ensures data integrity and avoids errors in long-distance transmission.
VMEbus deep compatibility and collaboration
Fully compliant with the VMEbus standard, it can seamlessly collaborate with Motorola series VME control units (such as MVME-162, MVME-320B processor boards) as a slave module:
Receive communication configuration instructions (such as speed and transmission mode) from the main control through the VME bus, and synchronously feedback the operating status (connection status, fault alarm) of the two channels;
Support VME interrupt response, which can actively report events such as "channel failure" and "data reception completion" to the main control, facilitating the system to quickly handle exceptions.
Industrial grade high reliability design
Adopting a reinforced hardware solution to adapt to harsh operating environments:
Environmental tolerance: The working temperature covers a wide temperature range of -40 ℃ to+85 ℃, with an anti vibration level of 10-500Hz and 1.5g. It can adapt to scenarios such as vehicle mounted (railway/ship), outdoor base stations, and military field deployments;
Anti interference and protection: Integrated optoelectronic isolation circuit (isolation voltage ≥ 2500Vrms), in compliance with IEC 61000-4 electromagnetic compatibility standard, to resist strong electromagnetic radiation and surge impact; Supports continuous operation for 7 × 24 hours, with a long mean time between failures (MTBF), meeting the "uninterrupted communication" requirements of critical task systems.
